Broadway Oyster Bar

Happy Fat Tuesday everyone! We hope you all are staying warm and not too clammy. For our 12th installment of #CarryoutComedy we decided to celebrate Mardi Gras by stopping by one of our favorite venues in town, Broadway Oyster Bar! Located on South Broadway right down the street from Busch Stadium, BOB (what the cool kids call it) is one of the best places in town for your Cajun and Creole fix. Fun Fact: The building was built in the mid-1840's (meaning there's a chance Ol' Huck Finn stopped by for a visit during his river journey) and is one of the oldest buildings still in daily use in the city of St. Louis. They have online ordering and the menu on their website, we went with an order of Oysters Rockefeller, and a bowl of Andouille, Chicken, and Seafood Gumbo. The food was celestial, but we couldn't help but feel like something was missing from the experience, and it's that we ain't got the funk (if you're unfamiliar, the funk is a living creature, about the size of a medicine ball, but covered in teats, came from another planet, and landed on Bootsy Collins' house). Luckily for us, live music is back at BOB, so we won't be missing the funk for long. Get out to their well-heated, covered patio and soak in some real live entertainment while eating some of the best food in town. Thanks for having us again, even if it was just for carry-out! We'll be back a ton during the baseball season. See you then. Peace!
